Une herbe dressée. Il continue de croître d'année en année. Il a une tige florale distincte. Il peut atteindre 1 m de haut. Les feuilles près de la base sont en forme d'épée et se rétrécissent vers la pointe. Ils mesurent 5 à 15 cm de long et 10 à 25 mm de large. Les feuilles supérieures sont plus petites et ont des côtés parallèles et se rétrécissent vers la pointe. Les fleurs sont très petites. Ils sont entassés en anneaux autour de la tige. Ceux-ci contiennent 5 à 16 fleurs. Les fruits ont de petites saillies crochues{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
